There's something special about the warm gleam of copper or brass catching the morning light in your greenhouse. At Haws, we've been crafting these metals into watering cans since 1886, and there's a reason we still love these timeless metals today.
Each can begins as a solid sheet of 0.4mm metal in our Birmingham workshop. Never plated, never compromised. We press-cut every component on dedicated tooling that's been refined over decades, then shape them with specially engineered lathes. Our craftsmen hand-assemble every joint using precision soldering techniques passed down through generations.
These watering cans aren't just beautiful, they're functional and fantastically durable. And as they age, these metals gradually develop a protective patina that tells the story of every garden they've watered. Copper and brass naturally keep water fresher, too, due to their antimicrobial properties - the same principle behind the old gardener's trick of dropping a copper penny in cut flower vases.

Best For: Houseplant & Seedling Watering
With its elegant curves and included baby oval brass rose, The Rowley Ripple brings traditional craftsmanship to modern plant care. Available in both copper and brass, this two-pint can delivers the perfect gentle shower for houseplants, seedlings, and delicate foliage. The removable rose lets you switch seamlessly between a gentle, even spray and direct flow, delivering controlled watering without spills or soil disturbance. It's as much a decorative piece as it is a practical tool – ideal for those who value both precision and style.
Best For: Simple, Spill-Free Precision Watering
Also available in copper or brass, and in both one and two-pint sizes, the minimalist design of The Fazeley Flow is built for targeted watering without a rose. Its graceful curved spout offers effortless control and precision, making it ideal for spill-free houseplant watering. It’s as pleasant to use as it is to look at.
(Note: the Fazeley Flow is not compatible with rose attachments, making it a perfect choice for those who prefer a direct pour.)
Best For: Increasing Humidity
Some plants demand the finer things in life. The Smethwick Spritzer is a misting tool available in a brass, copper or nickel finish, that delivers the gentle humidity boost that tropical plants crave. Perfect for orchids, ferns, and other moisture-loving houseplants that thrive with a little extra humidity in your home. Designed as a standalone mister, it complements your watering can but doesn’t attach to it.
Best For: Complete Plant Care
Why choose between tools when you can have the perfect pairing? Our thoughtfully curated Houseplant Sets combine either the Rowley Ripple or Fazeley Flow with the Smethwick Spritzer, giving you everything needed for comprehensive plant care.
Caring for Your Cans
Copper and brass cans don’t just shine, they evolve. With just a little routine care (rinsing, drying, and gentle cleaning) they’ll age beautifully while staying in top condition. But, if you’d rather keep them gleaming, with a little elbow grease and our handy kit, you can do just that.
For those times you want that original gleam back, The Haws Polishing Kit is your go-to. It removes tarnish gently and safely, revealing the brilliant metal beneath. Just a few circular strokes with the included cloth, and your can will look bright and fresh once again.
Love the Patina
That softening colour over time? It’s not damage, it’s a badge of service. Embrace the unique character it brings. Many gardeners consider this warm patina part of the charm, a visual record of every plant it’s helped thrive.
With minimal care, your Haws watering can becomes more beautiful with age, ready to serve generations of gardeners to come.
