The Hockley Heritage HDG - 2 Gallon

The Hockley Heritage is our contemporary update of the traditional English watering can – the iconic “Peter Rabbit” style, instantly recognisable in gardens and storybook pages. While its heritage silhouette remains, every element has been refined for greater comfort, strength, and everyday performance.

The fixed wooden top handle is shaped to follow the curve of your hand, staying firm for a secure, steady grip when carrying or pouring. Unlike swinging metal handles, it prevents spills, reduces strain, and removes a common leak point. The smooth steel back handle complements this, allowing your hand to slide naturally as the can empties for effortless control.

A distinctive pressed lattice pattern strengthens the steel body, helping it resist dents and wear. The close-reach spout with wide-diameter ferrule gives a generous, free-flowing delivery of water, making light work of larger watering tasks.

Built from steel and finished using our Hand-Dip Galvanising (HDG) process, the entire can is coated inside and out in molten zinc for exceptional corrosion resistance. The bright silver finish will gradually soften to a matte grey, developing a unique patina over time.

Supplied with a removable all-brass General Purpose Rose, it produces a classic, even spray – gentle on foliage yet efficient for established plants, vegetable rows, and open beds. Over time, the brass will mellow to a warm patina unless polished.

With its two-gallon (8.8 litre) capacity, the Hockley Heritage reduces refill trips while maintaining comfortable balance. An integrated rose parking point keeps the rose secure between uses, and bespoke, fully recyclable outdoor packaging protects the can in transit, with the rose tucked safely beneath the handle.
